China Telecommunications |Breaking Down the Silos of Operations Support

China Telecom, established in 1995, is a state-owned telecommunications giant, consistently listed among the "Fortune Global 500" companies for multiple years. It primarily operates comprehensive information services including fixed-line telephony, mobile communication, satellite communication, internet access, and applications.

Project Background

Under the impetus of the national "14th Five-Year Plan" and the New Infrastructure policy, enterprises are accelerating their digital transformation, and telecommunications operators are also joining the wave of digital transformation with 5G as a catalyst. Telecommunications operators have high requirements for the quality and stability of operations and maintenance.Infodator launched digital employees in the marketing operations department and operations and maintenance department of the telecommunications sector, building application scenarios such as CMDB, monitoring alarms, ITSM, and automated job scheduling. helping China Telecommunications achieve cost reduction, revenue increase, perception enhancement, and efficiency improvement.

Project Description

External Market Operations:

Infodator's digital employees completed various automation projects in the market operations department, including CRM order automatic entry, concentrated ICT fulfillment verification, MSS transfer process, business hall work order audit, intelligent work order processing, complaint traceability query, user bill query, bulk sales item shelving, intelligent dispatching, and information sampling. For example, internal CRM, OMS, and other business systems require cross-system order processing, which is achieved through AI+RPA products for non-invasive automation processing. For stock monthly rental ICT projects with high repeatability in audit tasks, RPA automatically identifies work orders. For specialized line contracts that have been completed, which need to be transferred to specific unit leaders for follow-up implementation, repetitive and time-consuming tasks can be replaced by RPA to complete information queries, intelligent dispatching, and simple task handling.

Internal Operations and Maintenance:

Automation projects implemented in internal operations and maintenance include automatic acceptance, IP phone equipment backup, automatic system checks, efficient operation checks, real-time policy checks, etc. The massive and frequently changing workload of network elements, IP phones (IPT) equipment, and other operations and maintenance tasks is alleviated by digital employees automating license status checks, thereby reducing the workload of operations and maintenance personnel. For instance, automatically logging into client systems to check IPT equipment, downloading detailed configuration information, and transferring it to FTP servers to provide customers with more comprehensive backup value-added services.

Project Results

Infodator's collaboration with telecommunications has resulted in the implementation of numerous automated operational applications, consolidating monitoring, management, control, service, and operation capabilities. This further builds an integrated operations platform, integrating capabilities such as CMDB, monitoring alerts, ITSM, visualization dashboards, and automated job scheduling. These capabilities are closely interconnected, enabling seamless process integration, leveraging the value of data, and assisting telecommunications in advancing its digital operational transformation. Additionally, leveraging the advantages of cloud-network integration and big data, this collaboration aims to drive digital transformation across various industries.
